OCTOBER 22 NATIONAL DAY OF PROTEST AGAINST POLICE BRUTALITY
Protest Rally and March
Wednesday, October 22 at 6:30 p.m.
North Commons Park, Golden Valley Road and Morgan Ave N, Minneapolis

In light of the police killings of Terrance Franklin, Mike Brown, Eric Garner, and the brutal beatings and abuse of so many others, after the destruction of civilian oversight in Minneapolis, and the chief's refusal to attend the 9/18 community meeting, join us for a rousing and inspiring event to mark the 19th annual October 22 National Day of Protest Against Police Brutality. Protest the state of policing in this city and the country, remember the stolen lives of people who have died at the hands of law enforcement, and celebrate the efforts of the community to hold police accountable.

CUAPB SENDS "SMALL ARMY" OF ORGANIZERS TO FERGUSON
You may not know it but Communities United Against Police Brutality has a national reputation for our model of constituent-led organizing and our fourteen years of effectively taking on police brutality and justice system issues.  We used our experience recently to help the good people of Ferguson, Missouri in their organizing efforts and to spread the word about professional liability insurance for police officers.  Our organizers worked tirelessly helping local people develop strategies to create lasting change.  We are very proud of this work!

Efforts like this are important so that we can share our learning with newer activists and exchange ideas with others in the movement.  However, they cost money.  As an all-volunteer grassroots organization, we operate on a shoestring budget and survive on donations from people who appreciate our work.  If you value what we do, please consider a donation to help us keep going.  You can donate by clicking on the Paypal button on the home page of our website at cuapb.org or mail a check to us at 4200 Cedar Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55407.  Your support is really appreciated.
